What is the confidential list?

Read carefully and you'll quickly understand how this service can save you a significant amount of money (time, arguments when placing your bets, and money by optimizing your betting strategy).

On the agenda this week: What is the FootVIP.com confidential list?

If FootVIP.com gives you the impression that an army of football experts is working for you, you're not far off.

Know that all FootVIP.com analyses are based on data processed by our computer programs and presented in a simple way for your convenience, for those of you who don't want to spend hours digging out the key moments of the matches on which you want to place bets.

FootVIP.com data comes from the latest news about the teams playing each other, analyzed over a given period as well as the current situation, taking into account the surrounding environment. the match itself.

Other elements are also taken into account by the FootVIP.com brain:

- the teams and their behavior against opponents of similar strength to the current one,

- the human potential present on the day.

All of this is presented clearly and simply, so that everyone can get the most out of it.

FootVIP.com uses a probabilistic assessment and situation modeling process which, in simple terms, means that our servers, after recording all this data plus data related to current events (position, situation, squad, participants, absentees, team reaction to similar events, etc.), generate evaluations.

These evaluations are themselves modeled and compared to an impressive number of past results for the two teams involved, events proposed by and all the bootmakers.

How does the confidential list work?

The Confidential List: A Different Approach

FootVIP.com analyzes the strengths of each team.

Millions of data points are sifted through.

All analyses are based on verifiable rules.
FootVIP.com is progressively developing methods that allow it to estimate the potential of each team against teams of the same caliber as the day's opponent. The information is necessarily based on real events. This work cannot be carried out using traditional statistical methods due to the small sample sizes. FootVIP.com focuses its analysis of team behavior in the current championship solely on 100% consistent rules between two periodic cycles, resulting in meaningful models.

This is a long-term, comparative analysis.

There is no such thing as a "sure-fire winner," but although experience shows that the unpredictable nature of sport plays a significant role, there are still many factors that can be exploited, which is precisely what bookmakers do with their well-known success. These are the very factors you can also leverage.

FootVIP.com is an expert in 100% targeted analysis of the balance of power type and verifiable metrics.

FootVIP.com develops macro-models that can be used in similar situations. By repeating situations hundreds or even thousands of times under similar conditions, the process allows us to accumulate as many models as there are situations, thus increasing efficiency. One such model, for example, is the correlation between anticipated player absences (on a specific date) and the players who will actually be on the field. Or, consider current red and yellow cards. Also, important scheduled matches, including those outside the national league. Several thousand combinations are possible, and the decision is thus presented in a concise and rational manner. FootVIP offers high-quality models and tools to help you make predictions, either independently or through sorting, accessible in each list, along with free Statistics modules. FootVIP.com takes great care in compiling its daily match list to provide you with reliable predictions. FootVIP.com understands the daily needs of bettors and knows that, however imperfect the list may be, it will always be better than irrationality. You can now rely on the annotations for each match.

At certain times of the year, less reliable information may be available before the match for various reasons (no comparable data, repeated false team lineup announcements by a coach, team selection system up to a few minutes before kickoff, last-minute changes in strategy, etc.).

When the data does not allow for a high estimation threshold or does not meet all FootVIP criteria, these matches are marked with "Insufficient Data".

Discover the summary of FootVIP.com’s key metrics:

In addition to the basic information factored into the FootVIP.com approach—

Date, time, league standing, points, missing squad members, analysis of past head-to-head matchups between teams of similar caliber, average goals scored, matches played, maximum and minimum point spreads in the league, etc.—

FootVIP.com generates three major, significant ratings regarding the designated "Favorite"*:

-> The Outsider’s "Danger Rating"
-> The Favorite’s* "Conversion Rate"
-> The Favorite’s* "Performance Score"

(* The team with the highest score following the FootVIP.com analysis is designated the "Favorite," though this does not necessarily align with the bookmakers' favorite. This is a proprietary FootVIP.com index.)

These three core ratings allow you to instantly assess the potential of each match and the true value of the teams after they have met all FootVIP.com criteria.

It is important to note that the FootVIP.com analysis evaluates each team specifically against its opponent for the day, rather than based on general performance trends or arbitrary criteria—such as bookmaker odds—that might otherwise be misleading.

To fully appreciate the benefits of the exclusive FootVIP.com list, it is best to avoid hasty judgments!

As you gain experience with FootVIP.com, you will discover that some matches are far riskier than they appear, while others do not warrant backing the "Favorite"*.

For matches that do merit a wager, you will have all the information needed to decide for yourself whether to bet on the Outsider or the "Favorite"*! The opportunities are plentiful, and one of the advantages of FootVIP.com is that it gives everyone the freedom to scout out, interpret, and choose options based on their own vision and betting style.

After all, given the same information, some bettors might decide to bet for or against the favorite, or on a draw. Others might take a risk by speculating on a low "Favorite's Performance Rating." That is precisely the appeal of FootVIP.com.

You might be among those who mitigate risk by placing a bet covering two possible outcomes—such as one that refunds your stake if the primary predicted result doesn't win (like a draw)—or by opting for a "double chance" bet.

Do you enjoy discussion, the exchange of ideas, and communication?

A brand-new tool—previously unavailable on the global market—designed by bettors, for bettors. You will find it useful as it provides instant insight into league matches at a glance.

If, after using the tool, you are interested in becoming a forum moderator or blog writer, or in participating in the tool's evaluation, you can submit a request via the contact form. Unfortunately, we cannot accept every application, as managing your feedback, questions, and discussions requires a significant amount of internal work; however, individuals with genuine betting skills and expertise are encouraged to apply.

The most insightful observations will be collected and rewarded. However, that is not the primary goal. Our main objective is to provide you with a highly sophisticated tool—unmatched on the global market—that empowers you to make your own predictions independently, thanks to a wide range of relevant parameters, and helps you maximize your winnings, especially on high-odds bets (which is exactly what it is designed for)!

Can we rely on the ratings to make our predictions?

FootVIP ratings are objective benchmarks, but not guarantees. They reflect the past performance of teams against similar opponents, but: Sport remains unpredictable: A team in form can underestimate an underdog (e.g., a favorite at 1.35 with 3 red cards is far from a "sure thing"). The laws of probability apply: A perfect winning streak (e.g., 10/10) statistically increases the risk of underperformance in the next match. How to interpret the ratings? Positive rating: The favorite has a historical advantage… but check why (high success rate? low threat level of the underdog?). Negative rating: The underdog has already caused upsets… an opportunity for a Lay bet or an Asian handicap (HA -1/4, HA 0).

Would it be possible to sort the matches by time?

We believe that, on the contrary, it makes more sense to sort them by rating. This allows you to immediately identify the different categories. That said, you can sort them however you like. Just click at the top of the column.

I'm looking for a Lay betting strategy to make a profit. Which ratings should I prioritize?

Look at the negative ratings (-10, -9, -8, etc.) and the intermediate ratings. This is probably the best Lay betting strategy you can find in the list. Negative values are precisely what allows you to bet (Lay) against the favorite!

Other advantages of the confidential list

The list only examines events that have already occurred during the current year and the phases of progress/regression of both teams, without considering their overall performance against all teams in the league. Instead, it focuses on their performance against teams with similar characteristics to their current opponent. These events reflect individual performance. Therefore, the analysis largely examines each team against opponents with the same characteristics and key strengths as their current opponent.

Results from past years (the historical head-to-head record between the teams), which are not part of the current football season's balance of power, are not taken into account. You are free to examine this element separately, depending on your interest and/or beliefs regarding this parameter.

The list indexes its annotations based on the team with the most points in the league (at the time of the match) and assesses its performance against teams of the same caliber as their current opponent, and vice versa.

Specifics
It's also worth noting that certain periods of the season are more "tricky" than others, such as the transfer window or towards the end of the season (the last 2-4 matches). In these situations, predictive instability is much higher due to the reactivity of teams at risk of relegation, or those attempting to climb back into the top spots to gain access to higher divisions and/or international competitions. These specifics remain subjective, however, and you can assess them by adjusting the odds accordingly.

Get the essential tool for every bettor.
Every day, all matches from the French national and international leagues are analyzed in the list.

The annotations in the list are a major new feature. Now, thanks to this list, you'll be betting on a much more level playing field with your bookmaker than before. The FOOT-VIP Confidential List is unavailable anywhere else and is a unique tool (in the world) in its form. Its purpose is to help you make informed and confident decisions about which matches to bet on!

This confidential list is an evaluation tool and can serve as a working basis. With it, say goodbye to opaque betting!

We are aware that our analyses can be improved, but thanks to new web technologies and constantly evolving information, we can enhance the quality of our predictions and make our computers even smarter. So, the next time you use a prediction to place your bets or to inform your web articles, think about the millions of models and data points that led to this result, and what's more, in the blink of an eye—pretty impressive, right? How are annotations made?

To better understand, let's go back a bit. If you want to make a prediction on a match where the teams are unknown, you would probably start by examining the situation of both teams, including their position, their recent results, and other parameters of this nature—elements and rules that would allow you to form an opinion.

A computer can do the same by referring to the specific characteristics of the match and a set of rules. However, the complexity of the prediction is such that these rules all come with exceptions, as anyone who makes predictions in this field can confirm. When you try to make a computer program learn these exceptions and the exceptions to the exceptions, the quality of the prediction suffers. Why? Simply because the risks are not properly taken into account.

What does "Insufficient Data" mean?

It means that sufficient data exists, specifically when the season is well underway, with the top team holding around 15 or 30 points or more, and the odds are much stronger and the chances of success higher. This is why the list includes a "Minimum/Maximum League Points" column; it's just as important an indicator as the others. When "Insufficient Data" appears, it usually means the season hasn't started well yet. In this case, the list doesn't evaluate the match because the risk is much higher, and the most surprising results are possible.

Are there specific periods to consider in the league standings?

Yes. Besides the start of the season, during the periods before and after the winter break, we sometimes observe a lapse in performance from certain teams that cannot be factored into the rankings because it's not a consistent occurrence nor applicable to all teams.

Therefore, particular attention is advised. The period near the end of the season is also crucial. Teams change their approach and sometimes undergo a complete transformation, depending on what's at stake (relegation or promotion, maintaining their top positions to secure a place in international competitions). Motivation is often also linked to bonuses promised by management. Transfer periods are also delicate, with the departures and arrivals of new players. In the first case, it's because the teams haven't yet demonstrated their true potential, and others may have benefited from some lucky breaks or strokes during this period, most often because they were underestimated (the complacency born of dominance also applies here).

Thus, the first few matchdays of the season can be particularly deceptive. An example that comes to mind is Hull City in the English Premier League, a newcomer in 2008-2009 from the Championship, ready to compete with the big boys of the Premier League.

This modest team rivaled the giants of European football, occupying one of the top five spots in the Premier League for several months! That's no small feat! This team, on matchday 6, managed to beat Arsenal (1-2) away from home, drew with Liverpool (2-2), and also drew with Chelsea (0-0), again as away players... before plummeting to 17th place with 35 points, just one point above relegation (Newcastle also had 35 points), narrowly escaping a forced return to square one...

In the second case: There are several possible scenarios. Take the example of PSG two seasons ago. After being so close to the top four, which would have guaranteed at least a European spot, a slightly premature announcement of their coach's departure was enough to destabilize the team and cause them to relax somewhat, enough to miss out on the end of the season by a difference not in points, but in goals—a single goal—benefiting Lille, who finished 6th, even though they were 6th when PSG were in the top four!

In this second case, you also noticed in the last five matchdays the resurgence of struggling teams across all leagues, such as Lecce and Reggina, who finished bottom of the Italian league but both drew against Juventus, forcing them to share second place with Milan. These are just a few examples off the top of my head, but they illustrate these situations well.

Can we rely on the Ratings provided by the list to make our predictions?

The principle of the List is to provide "benchmarks" that can help you make your prediction.

>> The Rating is a benchmark. It reflects the overall performance of two teams from the start of the season up to the day of the match.

>> When a team has achieved a perfect record up to the day of the match, the list, based on its position (Favorite/Underdog), will automatically assign it a maximum success rate or risk level.

However, no one can guarantee that the perfect record achieved so far isn't due to factors other than strength/resistance (and not circumstances) and/or a combination of factors. It's even less obvious whether this will happen again. This becomes even more complicated when dealing with two teams. We can therefore only consider the benchmark while simultaneously looking for other elements that could influence the balance of power, without ever losing sight of the fact that the element of luck is completely eliminated but still has a role to play.

Therefore, the translation of the Rating (e.g., 9.00) will be:

>> Team X, the favorite, has a high rating (9.00) having performed well against teams of the same caliber as Team Y, their opponent today, and in the same position (home/away).

>> Is the 9.00 rating due to the favorite team itself or to the perceived strength of their opponent? To determine this, refer to the "Performance Rate" column.

If it's due to the favorite team's own performance (their performance rate is 90.00%), this means they have already experienced a slight setback against a similar team, in which case, the same pattern is likely to repeat itself. If it's due to their opponent (their perceived strength is 10%), this means they have already performed well against a similar team, in which case, the same pattern is likely to repeat itself.

This is the beginning of a mistrust towards today's favorite. But it's a series of factors that still need to be considered.

>> For example, home/away position = home advantage

>> Point difference = the greater the difference, the stronger the balance of power.

>> Red cards = the more numerous, the more important this factor is, especially in lower divisions.

>> Similar matches played (T1*-T2*) = the more numerous, the stronger the final score.

>> Danger level = the higher the underdog's rate, the more resistance they put up, and the greater their chances of turning the situation around.

>> Success rate = the higher the favorite's success rate, the greater their chances of winning the match.

Thus, all these factors provide a clear picture, allowing for an assessment. This assessment can be personalized and adapted to each individual's betting style.

Other examples:

Note / Rating: For example, for the same Rating whose final number is positive or negative, we must also examine its composition. For instance, we might find two Ratings of 8 composed of different percentages of (Danger / Realization):

00.00% - 80.00% Rating 8
20.00% - 100.00% Rating 8

In the first case, the underdog has never been a threat (00.00%), while the favorite has had a lapse at some point (80.00%).

In the second case, the underdog has already been a threat (20.00%), while the favorite has never had a lapse (100.00%).

Thus, the two Ratings of 8 deserve different interpretations depending on the circumstances. This difference in interpretation should also be considered in relation to whether the favorite with a Rating of 8 is playing at home or away.

T1* - T2*: Similarly, for the same rating of 8, this should also be considered in relation to the number of T1* and T2* matches involved. The greater the number, the higher the chances of success. Therefore, it is the entire body of data presented to you that allows you to make a decision. Regarding the statistics: You will notice that the statistics always focus (as does the entire list) on the presumed favorite. The favorite is the index used as the basis. It is therefore not the bookmakers' favorite or a prediction. By hovering your cursor over the different columns, you will see the corresponding statistics, but even better than the previous statistics because they also include statistics by position (Home/Away) and by Division type (D1, D2, D3, etc.).

This approach further refines the statistics.

Thanks to the List and your predictions, on bad days I have a 75% success rate, and one out of every two days I have a 100% success rate.

Indeed, many matches seem "good" to win, but they aren't. The factors that mistakenly lead people to believe these are "good" matches to win are often numerous. And that's where the surprises come in.

The three most common factors are:

A] The teams' positions. A large point difference between the favorite and the underdog encourages betting on the favorite.

B] A team's form over the last five or six matches played. This factor also encourages betting on a team that is improving or stable.

C] The odds are also a factor that can be misleading.

The List allows you to overcome all three, or some, of these three factors.

Point A: When we look more closely at the favorite's performance against teams of similar caliber to today's opponent, we can see the weaknesses. Many favorites underestimate the underdogs. If it's not the coach's tactics that are at fault, and he thinks he can rest certain players against a particular opponent, it could be the players' own behavior, and/or both. Certainly, the list informs us of similar situations in the past, which is why a team that hasn't yet made the mistake of underestimating a particular opponent can more easily gain our trust. But it can also succumb to the temptation to do so, precisely during the match in question. In this situation, we tend to think, "There's nothing we can do... the list can't tell us what hasn't happened yet!" Well, NO...!

Here too, the list contains hidden information, but you have to read "between the lines." Indeed, one can also be wary of a completely "unblemished" situation, that is, a flawless record... so far.

Why? Because sport also obeys the laws of probability! Statistically, there will be, sooner or later... a fall. It's inevitable! The greater the gap between a perfect record and a flawless one, the more imminent the fall! That's what reading "between the lines," or rather, "between the numbers," is all about! Thanks to such an analysis of the list, we can therefore "suspect" a favorite team on this first point. This doesn't mean we automatically exclude them, but simply that we grant them a reprieve (which can influence our final opinion and therefore may be negative), but not before examining Points B and C.

Point B: Form. Many make the mistake of relying solely on this element to make their decision. This is a mistake. Even if a team's form has been excellent in the last 5 or 10 matches, it doesn't mean much because you still have to compare apples to apples. 5 or 6 wins, YES, but against WHOM? Yes, a winning streak gives players wings...but it also breeds overconfidence, and here too, the law of probability has its say. And not only that law. Indeed, the rankings show performance against teams of similar strength! It's not very useful to know that our team has won the last 5 or 6 matches if the opponents have nothing in common with today's opponent. If our favorite has played against the bottom 5 teams in the standings (or those that were about to become the bottom 5) and today's opponent is a top team (already top or not yet but destined to be), that's crucial information! So... examining form before making a decision... YES, that's good... but also against WHOM, and WHAT QUALITY OF OPPONENT, is infinitely better! The list allows for this.

Point C: Odds of 1.35 on the overwhelming favorite who has to fight in the absence of two key players due to red cards don't deserve that price! Likewise, an overwhelming favorite who has already lost 3 times in 3 matches against teams similar to today's opponent.

Indeed, while it's true that what hasn't happened yet can still happen, what about what has already happened? It's a certainty... since it's proven... it can happen even more easily! Therefore, you're using the list wisely. Congratulations!!

Favorite Signs, Predictions, Negative/Positive Ratings, Goals?

About the Favorite:

"The favorite" is the favorite solely based on its position in the league standings. This is a basic starting point. Therefore, statistically speaking, the term "favorite" must be considered in this context.

About the Prediction:

The information is basic, useful, and concise. It allows you to make a prediction, but it is not (at this time) linked by us to a final prediction. The results from the W/L/D statistics are not prediction results but rather results based on the "favorite." It is up to you to make the prediction based on the information available to you and your observations.

About the Prediction Decision:

The decision remains personal. This is intentional to help you improve. The statistical results combined with the information in the list allow you to decide whether to bet "for" or "against" the favorite. High negative odds (-10, -9, -8, etc.) offer excellent probabilities for betting against the favorite.

Regarding the type of bet to associate with a negative odds prediction (-10, -9, -8):

Using a HA 0, HA-1/4, HA +1/2, or HA +1/4, or even betting on 1 or 2 (depending on the associated indicators in the columns for the outsider's risk level/the favorite's success rate, and other parameters) remains a matter of choice, allowing everyone to freely express their opinion according to their personality, playing style, and financial strategy. The service, in this scenario, uses a mix with a predominance of HA 0. You will, however, notice a significant number of draws. Initially, the tendency is to say, "Too bad," without immediately considering that you have simultaneously saved yourself a potential loss.

But after careful observation and daily use of the list, good ideas will emerge. For example, you'll notice a lot of draws in certain categories. The next idea isn't far off: Use HA -1/4, which often offers a payout more than 70% higher than HA 0, and in case of a loss, only lose half your stake. It's a sound choice.

Regarding Goals:

For now, don't worry about goals, as it's a primary factor that doesn't always mean much. It depends on the moment. So for now, focus on becoming an expert in predictions, excluding goals.

What statistics should you follow to achieve a good return?

What statistics should you follow to achieve a good return?

This question is interesting because it highlights two realities and therefore two concrete courses of action.

A] A majority of 10/10 ratings concern the overwhelming favorites on paper! It's also important to know that bookmakers base their calculations for assigning odds on paper! The interesting point here is: is the team that appears to be the overwhelming favorite on paper really THE favorite? And if so, by what margin? The answer lies in the associated statistics! These rates allow you to see that these SUPER FAVORITES on paper aren't always truly the overwhelming favorites in the end. These statistics help put things into perspective so you don't bet blindly! Ultimately, you have two alternatives: either include it in your bet, but with a bankroll management strategy that supports this success rate, or avoid this match altogether.

B] But the opposite is just as true. For example, if you consistently or almost always bet (depending on other associated values) against the favorite in X or 2, or both (against the favorite), the odds are relatively high. In this case, you can use a compound bet of the DNB type, that is, on the underdog! Indeed, if the odds suit a specific betting strategy, and the success rate of 30 or 40% is sufficient for this strategy due to the high odds, you can also generate a profit by betting against a team (lay). For example, a match with odds of 1.25 on the favorite will often have odds of 4.00 or more on a draw (X) and odds of 7.00 or more on the underdog. A double bet can be placed on the underdog to win, mitigating the risk with a return on stake if the match ends in a draw (X), thus obtaining odds of over 4.50 with a regularity equivalent to that shown by statistics! This strategy is perfectly suited to most money management plans because both the regularity and the odds are reasonable.

Since a draw is the preferred outcome in this scenario, the odds can also be reversed, aiming for a profit on a draw and a return on the stake on the underdog. The goal is to get paid on a draw. The odds will be lower, but still valid, and the regularity relatively high.

What do the asterisks (*) sometimes seen next to teams in the match details mean?

Asterisks:

The (*) indicates teams that, in the past (at the time the match took place), had a similar strength to today's opponent. Matches marked with an asterisk (*) are considered by our selection system as being similar to today's match.

These matches are counted, and this total number appears in the main list (T1 – T2). The higher the number, the stronger the rating. To better understand the concept, ask yourself these three behavioral questions (Favorite/Underdog), each against teams similar to today's opponent, in the past and in the same playing position (home/away):

FAVORI:
a) If lost or drawn against equal or weaker teams: This indicates that the favorite has already shown weaknesses against similar teams.

b) If won against equal or stronger teams: This indicates that the favorite confirms its form without difficulty against similar teams.

OUTSIDER:
c) If won or drawn against equal or stronger teams: This indicates that the underdog reacts well against similar teams, in which case the favorite will have a difficult match.

Point Difference (Diff Pts)

This is the current point difference (as of the match date) between the team's previous opponent and the current opponent.

Point Difference = Current point difference between the teams in the match and the points each team has faced in the past.

Congratulations! I have a question about the match schedule.

Question: Since subscribing, I've noticed two things. First, the quality of the confidential list is incredible! Second, some matches are being rescheduled. For example, you list Lincoln City vs. Welling (English Conference Premier) even though the match is scheduled for March 11th.

Answer: Our match provider can indeed announce matches in advance that may be rescheduled due to bad weather or TV broadcasting issues. For this reason, we advise you to prioritize the match schedules closer to the scheduled date for accuracy. Lists displayed 3 to 6 days in advance are only indicative. It's primarily in these lists that you'll find rescheduled or canceled matches.

We advise you to consider the match schedules for the next two days.
